The Covenant was established in 2005 in Bengaluru as a mission outreach of the Maranatha Bible-Presbyterian Church. Initially we started the work in HSR Layout, close to the Outer Ring Road, on rented premises. In 2008 we moved to our own premises in Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, 3 km away from the Outer Ring Road, close to the main Wipro Corporate office on Sarjapur Road. Maranatha, being the Mother Church, stood with Covenant during the initial years, the pastor and session, together with the congregation, prayerfully involving themselves in the establishment of the church. We thank the Lord for their labour of love, for the spread of the gospel of Christ. After 10 years, Covenant became fully independent, having our Church Session and taking care of all the ministerial needs of the church. Over the last 20 years, the church grew from six to around 70 people attending the morning English service, coming from different linguistic and ethnic groups in India. (We also have a Kannada service for the local Kannada speaking people, attended by around 30 people.) The Lord has blessed the church with many ministry opportunities, such as a preschool (Elim Preschool and Care), publications ministry, outreach to college students, and a Bible training centre. The Lord has also blessed us with very good infrastructure facilities, as the church sanctuary (main worship hall) has a seating capacity of around 200 people, along with facilities for the preschool, Bible training centre, etc. We thank the Lord for His bountiful provision in taking care of our every need.
